Alnwick Food Bank

Alnwick District Food Bank is based in the Lindisfarne Centre on Lindisfarne Road.  We support a wide range of clients, who are struggling to make ends meet, with nourishing food.

We are fortunate to have been given subsidised space in this building, which also houses the Citizens Advice Bureau, Town Council, and other services. The building is open to the public with a council-run café serving drinks and snacks. So there’s a lot of support on hand in one place.

Our rooms are kitted out like a corner shop, so that instead of being handed a parcel, people choose for themselves, accompanied by a Food Bank volunteer. They just take a basket and choose from a list of foods including all the usual tinned goods as well as fresh fruit & veg, meat, cheese and butter (when available).

Our shelving was provided by a generous legacy from a supporter, and a grant from Northumberland Estates gave us new fridges and freezers. We continue to receive amazing support from local businesses and our supportive communities around Alnwick.

The Food Bank is run entirely by volunteers.
