Moving Forward helps anyone in South Tyneside who has experienced mental health issues to get back on their feet. We’re here for adults in South Tyneside who have experienced mental health issues, and those who care and support them.
The support we offer
We can help you to:
- Rediscover your self-confidence.
- Learn new skills, or rediscover old interests.
- Build a stronger social network and have more people to spend time with.
- Get back into education or training.
- Find paid or voluntary work.
Our team can help you to find activities in the community that match your interests and aspirations. Your Link Worker will help you find the right activity at the right time and place for you. Our Link Workers all have a vast amount of knowledge of what’s out there!
We can also help you to set up your own interest group, if one does not already exist. The activities can be anything from spending a day walking in the countryside, to sharing a cup of coffee with a new group of friends, or joining a pub quiz team.
We have a variety of courses and support on offer if you would like to gain new skills, brush up on previous knowledge, or take steps to getting back to work.
We run our own courses, but can also give you advice and support to find the right starting point for activities in your community.
We can support you with everything from learning how to use a computer, to improving confidence and assertiveness, or starting a course at college.
