Samaritans of Northumbria – Ashington

My name is Ernie and I am the Director of Samaritans of Northumbria. Our branch is situated in the town of Ashington (“the biggest pit village in the world”) in south east Northumberland. We are one of two Samaritans’ branches in Northumberland (the other is in Berwick-upon-Tweed) and draw volunteers from all over the county. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and find their involvement with Samaritans a very rewarding experience.
